Happiness is a choice

 

Do what makes you happy; only happiness matters.

Happiness is a choice, we all have to make. Never wait for any specific reason for being happy. If you wait, you are certainly losing out an opportunity to make that moment happy.

Materialistic things offer you momentary joy only. True happiness lies in you only, not your money, your job, your relationship. Be a good person, be true to yourself, never hurt anyone intentionally and certainly it’ll add more beauty and happiness to your life. Once you are firm in your mind, fair in your actions and pure in your thoughts, you don’t need anyone’s approval for anything and you get a life of happiness in abundance.

Little things in life matter the most. If love and care from others can’t make you happy, you can never be happy truly no matter how big or lavish you get. At the same time, never put the key of your happiness in someone’s pocket. It’s altogether a mind game. Don’t let yourself troubled by outside forces, people’s reactions to your actions. As you do so, you are a free bird to embrace joy, peace, serenity, love,beauty and happiness in everything around you.

As beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, happiness lies in the hands of the person. If you are a good person in your mind, you see beauty and happiness all around. Always remember the law of attraction.... feel good in everything and whatever you desire, will find its way.

 

Few pointers to attain happiness:

 

  • Be a child sometimes, let yourself be free.
  • Believe in yourself.
  • Help others in whatever way you can.
  • Love and accept your own people the way they are.
  • Enjoy your ME time.
  • Allow yourself to do nothing at times and just relax .
  • Plan your day.
  • Spend at least 30 minutes a day in fresh air.
  • Try to be in a company of positive people.
  • Pray and meditate everyday and purify your soul.

LAW OF ACCEPTANCE


We all have read a lot about the law of attraction and are very well aware of how it can influence our lives. Now let’s find out what’s the law of acceptance in this blog of mine.

 

        


Well….I feel people in our life have a different nature; different upbringing and different understanding of life. Sometimes a thing may be quite big and hurtful for us but can’t be the same for others. We trouble ourselves too much just for the heck of it but the other person is never going to change for you (no matter what position you hold in their life) . So just understand ….we should learn to accept the people;their views and opinions.

And we should because

 

·       Nobody is perfect; everyone has flaws.

·       You can’t change anyone.

·       It only harms us at the end of the day.

·       We also need to be accepted by one and all.

·       We can’t be judgemental.

·       It helps to keep relationship healthy.

 

Also… one situation may be correct for us and it is incorrect for the other…who is the decision makers here…. US only. What are the pros and cons of all of this… what have we gained; NOTHING…but lost a number of things…. Many precious moments, our peace of mind, good health and most importantly a good relationship. Acceptance is about valuing differences. It’s about being flexible, tolerant and open-minded. It’s also about knowing how to compromise, understanding that we all make mistakes and being ready to forgive. Acceptance doesn’t  mean always agreeing with your partner-it’s OK to agree to disagree. Accepting someone includes appreciating them for who they are and loving them for their differences.

 

We can follow a few steps for becoming more accepting :

# we are not right or wrong, We are just different.

# Look at your practical options

# Let go of the things not meant for you gracefully

# Never try to change the other person; reevaluate.

# Value relationships more than your own personal grudge or ego.

 

I have summed up my views that I try to imbibe (though a continuous effort) through different phases of life. Hopefully it works for you all too.

Our adventure Starts

 then and there only …

 

When life throws thorns,

Hunt for roses…

Always water the thorns

For the sake of the roses.

 

We can complain

Roses have thorns

Or rejoice because

Thorns have roses…

The choice is ours….

 

The crude fact is

Pain and pleasure

Reside side by side

Go a long way together

Like roses and thorns

With one another.

 

Our life is just a

Change your thinking

 


Change your thinking ; it will definitely change your life.

As we grow older, we realize more the importance of good deeds, good thoughts and good perceptions. One must understand that one’s outer world is a mirror image of what’s inside you. It’s a saying of holy Bible too, “A person becomes and gets back what he thinks about.” So, let’s explore in detail what does it mean.

It truly means that in your conscious mind, how you perceive yourself ;think of yourself, you’ll automatically start bringing out a lot of changes in the outer world accordingly. It comes quite naturally. So, it’s all about your thinking ,your outlook…. How you look at things. Sometimes you are too good a person to understand their ways; then it’s but obvious resulting in a big hurt, an emotional setback and deep brooding follows if the hurt is more. Alas! It’s really pathetic. Come on… let’s find out how to overcome this phase…..

First of all, let’s go deep into it and find out the ways to deal with it as nothing is impossible. In our life, if our thoughts and feelings are affected by something or someone, then believe me, it’s always someone else. It’s always about the choices we make in life no matter about persons or dealing with situations.  Successful people are only those who make allies with the ones who always strive for accomplishment and have positive and apprehensive approach in life. On the other hand, unsuccessful people tend to collaborate with the negative-minded people. So, just resolute in life always to make strong bonds with the people whose company you really enjoy and the ones from whom you can learn something. Try to work with people whose life is an example as in you want to imbibe their doings. Always put emphasis on your relationships that make your life. Whatever you can learn from their life, your equation with them, decided your life too and it adds value to your life too.

Your positive approach towards life , ability to forgive others’ flaws( it’s their karma … let them deal with it; none of your concern) and forget all the bad phases of the past decides your flourishing and bright future ahead. It’s all in our hands…better late than never…let’s start it now.



Few points that I keep on reminding myself all the while; I want all of you to understand and follow these vital points in your life….

 

#  Be good to others.

#  Do good to others and it will come back to you in unexpected ways most certainly.

#  Think good about others and you’ll certainly start feeling good about yourself.

#  Feel good in small thing and big things will automatically follow.

#  Imagine you are indulged in some thoughts, there is nothing you can achieve by thinking bad or negative about a problem. Rather try to have a positive and rational approach , it transcends your energies into solving the problem and you get huge fruitful favourable results for sure.

PATTERNS OF GOOD LIVING

It has been so long that all of us are locked down inside our own surroundings. Really a very tough time for all of us! So many celebration times festivals all went so boring, so restrictive unlike the usual fun way before.  For a person like me who always looks forward to go out…enjoy outside ; movie date shopping etc…. always so excited to see my parents … so ready all the time for all this But can’t….! so it definitely takes a toll on us…To overcome this phase, we should adapt a certain changes in our lifestyle. I was thinking about all this… So thought to pen down a certain points as we don’t know how long will it take for this pandemic to end…



Leading a pious and good life takes one on the path of godhood . Few of the points I am already following and determined to put the rest into practice.

It’s generally said that a day well started ends well. We should get up early and start the day positively with some devotional song ( my daily routine with Guruji Bhajans ) or meditation. This will certainly infuse energy in you. Breakfast should be the heaviest meal of the day and on time too. One should eat seasoned fruits and vegetables. Remember to eat only one fruit at one time. Eat smaller portions , chew properly . never leave any leftovers. Take as much food as you can eat. What is a must….The whole family; grandparents, parents and children should take at lest one meal a day together. Try to observe fast once a week or eat one meal a day once a week . stress on the purity of food while cooking or eating.

When you get up a little before sunrise, these early rays release some chemicals in the brain which help us fight against infection and also sharpen our memory.

Few tips are here to follow…

If not possible in the morning, plan for these activities in the evening…

Ø  Exercise, brisk walk, running, cycling,weight-lifting,aerobics,playing any game.

Ø  Indoor games such as playing cards, chess,word-power, Sudoku etc are better options than spending time on electronic media.

Ø  Increasing pace – by fixing small goals one should increase one’s stamina. The type,duration of exercise should be adapted according to age and basic health and fitness levels.

Ø  Instead of a gym, give preference to working out in the lap of nature.

Ø  Do all the tasks without the aim of competition.

With time , one should develop the stamina to sit in padma-asan…quite still,increasing the duration of the sitting so as to be able to ultimately meditate calmly without restlessness.

Quite a challenging time for children too! Try to inculcate a certain habits that will help them. Fix up timings and programs of TV and internet viewing on the phone and tablets . I know it’s the toughest job  parent can do now a days but it’s sort of mandatory .develop the habit of reading and self-study . this also holds true for educative and informative programs and discussions on TV and on the internet. Insist on sharing things with each other and respect each other’s point of view. Understand the concept of family- living in the atmosphere of sharing and caring; and its advantages in the current scenario. Children should be taught the intricacies of life and how good values give ultimate peace.

Once a  week the whole family should follow some religious routine-like praying together, singing bhajans, doing havan or reading a religious book. The earlier we start the easier it is to build up a routine. They should be told about the concept of society , love and respect for one’s family, country, understanding the need to fulfill one’s duty as a society person. Encourage children to imbibe these points.

We all must lay emphasis on ‘SIMPLE LIVING-HIGH THINKING’. we should understand the need to put more emphasis on value based living than an external appearance.

My Father; My Strength



                                                              

On Father’s Day , I thought to write a blog on my papa ; my most favorite; my first go-to person for anything …. Mainly this blog is a personal not social,,,, about my relationship my equation with him.

First of all, Father’s day is not entitled to just a single day, but for a person like me who is so close to my father, every day is for him . I can’t say even a single word in this blog that I don’t mean from my heart as it’s for my papa. I share a beautiful and unusual kind of a bond with him as we both understand even the unsaid about each other. Not a single day passes that I don’t think about him, pray for his well-being. It’s not only because I love him and he deserves all good but also I can’t see him having any kind of problem in life. He is such a giving person, not only for his own children, but everyone around. He is the favorite of everyone in our extended families. 

                                               

I love to share everything with him and he also likes to share with me …. Whenever we all go to stay at our parents place during summer break, I m always the first one to get up though slept quite late but the charm of sitting with him in the balcony and gossip…. Too much fun.. is obviously more important than sleeping. Then we sit with tea cups in hand [ made by him] and talk on and on…everyday.. some of the talks are on repeat mode but still the same excitement for both of us.
The best thing that he has taught all his children, is to take the best care of our mommy.. he has never said this in words but shown by example, the way he cares for her. We all are always to care for her, protect her. It’s only because of his dedication and care that she is alright , in good health. I still remember the time my mother had got severely sick [ back in 2000; I was newly married then] . she had to undergo a brain nerve   procedure for about 12-14 hours, but it wasn’t a success. He is very strong but for the first time I had seen him crying while sitting in the corridors of Gangaram hospital… then she had to be operated. I remember my papa had instructed everyone not to tell me about the surgery as he said priti is very sensitive. When I went there like every day … to my surprise there were around fifty people of our families here and there waiting. Thankfully she got alright. These unsaid emotions mean a lot to me. It’s not that he’ll say… love you beta or hug me… but his feelings are conveyed to me. Words are not always needed to show your emotions, express your feeling. You can convey heart to heart.  Like today morning when I called him to wish happy father’s day… he started laughing wholeheartedly n I come to know that he is happy. Not a single thing in my life I’ve done without consulting him; be it buying a house, related to children or any other… his guidance is the must. whenever I pray, it’s always for him first… don’t know why but it’s like this only.


                           

whenever I m happy and excited, I look for him to share, and when I feel sad for some reason or low at times, I try to get answers from him, discuss with him in detail and every time I get relaxed and all my stress vanishes after a talk with him. He also doesn’t leave until I get comfortable.  I learn a lot from him everyday. Mine is an arranged marriage; he had chosen kamal for me. I feel so lucky to have him as my life partner as we both understand each other so well that no need to say what’s disturbing us. Moreover he is so much like my father – same caring n loving nature. He respects him the same way I do and my papa is very frank with him.  even my children say that for mummy , nanu is the most important person and we all come after that. Oops !!!



on this day, I just wish you to stay happy and healthy always and may you always be blessed with eternal love from all of us. HAPPINESS ALWAYS ! there is so much in my heart for you …. Can’t write everything here. I know you are always there for me no matter what. Thanks for everything.

Anger ; How to control



Anger is a natural emotion that we all experience at different times. Anger may be a secondary response to feeling sad, lonely or frightened. When we become hyper; anger comes out in full rage , we lose our judgement power; quite possible. Chances are very bright that our thinking can become impaired and we are more likely to do and say unreasonable and irrational things. We are so much in the control of this powerful emotion that we hardly realize at that time how we behaved or acted in a certain manner.



I believe, most common factors that make people angry are  grief, humiliation,  injustice, disappointment, failure, stress, embarrassment, any kind of abuse, illness(physical and mental), any kind of irritation etc. But don’t you all feel whatever the reason is it’s consequences are queer, terrible and threatening for sure. So, what’s required on our part? We must put efforts to get our anger under control .We need to enable to ourselves to cope and deal with anger; stress. Life we use all possible techniques to reduce stress , certainly we can channelize our anger into socially reliable behavior.
Let’s put certain tips altogether to manage anger in a positive way .


v  DON’T MAKE ANGER A HABIT
 Nothing is impossible. Hence, we can control our anger no matter what degree it is 

v  TAKE A TIMEOUT.
Timeout!!!! Are we kids? No, but sometimes Yes!!! Give yourself  breaks during tims of the day that tend to be stressful. A few moments of quiet time might help you prepare yourself what’s ahed; what can be a better way out of a particular situation without getting angry or irritated.

v  ONCE YOU’RE CALM ,EXPRESS YOUR ANGER.
As soon as you start thinking clearly, express your frustration in an assertive way. Don’t confront the person in front of you. State your concerns and points with clarity, without hurting others or trying to control them.

v  THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK
Sometimes we act impulsive, in the heat of the moment, it is easy to say something you may regret later. Take a few moments , soothe yourself , collect your thoughts before you say anything. And you must allow others involved in the situation to do the same.

v  DON’T HOLD A GRUDGE
Forgiveness is a powerful tool. Don’t allow anger and other negative feelings to crowd out positive feelings. If you forgive someone who has angered you, you boyh might learn from the situation. It’s unrealistic to expect everyone behave exactly as you want.

v  IDENTIFY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Instead of focusing on what made you angry, work on resolving the issue at hand. Does your child’s messy room drive you crazy? Close the door. Remind yourself that anger won’t fix anything and might only make it worse.

v  UNDERSTAND OTHERS’ VIEWS
Try to understand the other person’s point of view. That’s the only way out to reduce anger as according to them, they are right and you can’t change that.

v  PRACTICE RELAXATION SKILLS
Whenever your temper flares, put relaxation skills into practice. Practice deep-breathing exercises, imagine a relaxing scene ,or repeat a calming phrase such as ‘Take it easy’. Seems unrealistic!!! But believe me, it really works. You might also listen to music, write your feelings or do a few yoga exercises; whatever relaxes you.

v  USE HUMOUR TO HELP
Lightening up can diffuse tension. Use humour,fun to help you face what’s making you angry. Personally, I’m very fortunate to have my dear son whose one-liners, that too very spontaneous , make me smile whatever the situation is. Oh! Smile is an underrated word in his case, it’s laugh actually. Avoid sarcasm, it may hurt feelings and make things worse.

v  GET SOME EXERCISE
We all are very much aware of the fact that physical activities can help us reduce stress that can lead you to become angry. If you feel your anger escalating, go for a brisk walk or run, or spend some time doing other enjoyable physical activities.

v  KNOW WHEN TO SEEK HELP
Don’t hesitate to ask help from others to sort out matters.

Radiate Positivity !!!




This new blog of mine is all about what we want in our life and what we get and how! our aspirations, desires and what’s the end point…..


We all often determine living in abundance, a powerful life but then the question occurs, ‘why isn’t everyone a life according to his or her dreams?’ And the reply to this, according to me, is people don’t achieve what they want as they constantly keep on thinking but they don’t want to have,  their focus in mainly on that only. Just remember, you are a living magnet. Whatever come to your mind, you attracts the same, Your thoughts, your insight determine what you get. Certainly, its impossible to feel good and at same time be having negative thoughts, if you are feeling good, its because you are having good thoughts. You can have whatever in your life, there is absolutely no limits; you just have to feel good. Isn’t that all you ever want ?

You are getting exactly what you are feeling about, not what you are thinking about. If you start your day on good note, remember, you will most certainly attract more situation and people like that and happy feeling sustains. We all experienced days when one thing after another goes wrong, henceforth it becomes a chain of bad thoughts until you move yourself out of this spiral by just changing your thoughts to something positive like what you want etc.


Weather we realize it or not, we are thinking most of the time; like you are listening to someone, reading or watching a show, when you recall from past or consider something about the future, weather you are driving or getting ready you are thinking. Guess, what the only time we are not thinking while we are at sleep. So, our last thoughts are also being operated as we fall asleep, remember to feel good before going to bed.

If you can think about what you want and make it your dominant thought you will bring it in to your life. This is the most powerful thing we can do today and always. Do it for ourselves, its natural how much you think about a thing of your choice. You feel more and more excited to achieve that.  You will consider it your ambition of life, attract it with all your magnetic power of desire. By such thoughts in your mind you will create a certain kind of energy, that will attract all resources, opportunities and circumstances to work in your favor and help you achieve your goals.

Now lets all, me as well you to read my blogs, try to follow these things for our brighter future: -

Ø  Be positive
Ø  Thoughts are magnetic; think good get goodness in return
Ø  If you want to change anything in your life, change your thoughts

Ø  If you see it in mind, you are going to hold it in your hand.

Forgiveness !! A Key to Mental Peace




‘To err is human, to forgive is divine.’



It’s a saying everyone has gone through at some point of life. To many a people amongst us, it’s not easy to follow as to say it. Well, I too agree to that. But, I must confess, over the recent years, I’ve found certain measures, reasons and method how to forgive someone who has hurt someone. ‘would love to share in this blog of mine’ and hope you can relate to something happened in your own life.

First, let’s all find out why we should forgive someone. I can vividly remember a line said by an American comedian, Buddy Hackett;

“I have had few arguments with people, but I can never carry a grudge. You know why? While you’re carrying a grudge, they are out dancing.”

It certainly true, whenever you are upset or angry with person, you are giving the rein of your emotions to the hand of that person. So, neither should u care about the behavior of someone who hurt you, nor should you feel the need to like that person. You have to forgive that person, only to return back to your own life. So in a way, it’s a very selfish thing to forgive someone, not related to that person at all. It’s only relatively concerned about your own mental balance and peace of mind.
As Guru Ji says, “Shukrana …”. It becomes easy to forgive. How ? whenever you think about person say “God bless you, I forgive you for everything and wish good for you.” Think positive and it will destroy all negative energy in your mind.

Whenever you let other go after forgiving them, you feel a sense of happiness and positivity. Certainly you are going to feel more energetic, strong and self-confident.

To be free from the hatred because of anger for someone, the best way is to write to that person regarding that, which in turn will liberate you from the kinds of anger, dis-satisfaction and negativity like feelings. Don’t ever trouble yourself, thinking about the reaction of the person related. It’s not your concern, none of your business. Your motive must only be to release yourself and live peaceful life.

Learn to forgive yourself too. Whatever wrong has been done with you by anyone, stop worrying about that. Its all past now. Its your life; don’t punish yourself for the wrong done by someone else. Be good and leave their deeds to them only. Stop cribbing about past events as certain people and situations can never be changed so, why to bother? Be a mature person, forgive yourself for not saying certain things at a particular time for not making the other person understand. Free yourself from any kind of burden. Also, may be you have done or said something and you regret about it, just let the person know that you are sorry for it.  Doesn’t matter what’s the reaction, you are free from it anyway.

I guess each and every word written here is true as we all relate to it at some point of life. In a nutshell, at 45, I believe forgiveness is the only key to attain happiness and peace of mind in life.

A Ray of Sunshine


Sunshine has different meanings; elaboration according to an individual’s viewpoint.



To me, it’s achieving a perfect balance of mind and heart, to control over mental agitation (no matter how hard it is) and to understand when you must suppress what your heart desires.

Very often it happens that most of us feels a sense of temporary joy, by acquiring new things and forget to attain mental peace. It’s a saying; “Do good, have good.” You must be good to others but don’t expect the other person to be equally good that’s your karma. So, just do good and leave the rest to god.

If you want to achieve mental peace in today’s world we should understand what present, past and future signify in one’s life. After learning from the past, let it go.

After making a vision and planning accordingly, leave any kind of worrying of the future. Present is the greatest present of god; enjoy it. Take out time during the day when you can curb the urge to speak even for few minutes as silence provides an opportunity for self – introspection.

A few valid points we can imbibe to attain long-lasting mental peace:

Ø  Expectations reduce joy; Don’t expect
Ø  Do not give suggestion to other until you are asked for
Ø  Do not compete and compare with anybody; You are unique
Ø  Aim for constant improvement in yourself; always a scope
Ø  Past: gone, future: unknown, Live in the present with happiness
Ø  Observe, do not react
Ø  Control desires; be contented




Try to implement all these, better times ahead.

Happiness !

It's something that everyone in the world longs for. come on, let’s try & find out 'What is Happiness'.

Most of the people think happiness is found in things. how can it be true! if it’s true, everyone should easily be happy. As soon as we get a thing we were looking for, we start craving for other. And the list is endless... that keep us tensed and unsatisfied most of the time

Lets say – people. No doubt people give us happiness, but in some situation, the same can be source of discomfort.

Some temporary things such as beauty, youth, fame cause great happiness while they last, but if they become the central reason for happiness, this too is temporary is short-lived.

So the question is still there !!





Well as far as my understanding of life goes, I feel happiness is not found in anything outside us. It is very much found within us; in our mind and heart and thoughts.

It is up to us to be happy or not with whatever we have.

It is the way we look at things, people and situation. Nothing is good or bad; every situation, person and thing has positive and negative traits. If we focus on the positive aspects of these and even in our self, we will have more reasons to be happy.

  •  Happiness lies as much is giving as in getting
  • Ultimate happiness due to success lies in achievement based on your own efforts

About myself

Being my first write up ever, let me introduce myself.
We are a family of four. Glorifying the rest of the three, I can only say; my husband is my strength, my daughter; my pride and my son is the joy of my life. Basically I am a happy person,still at times I am flooded with an ocean of mixed emotions at different times. So just thought to share few of these through my blogs.

Though it's my first hand experience , I promise myself that I would be true to  myself sharing  my thoughts whether it's personal ,emotional or any social concern. So , for any insight of me , both (you  and I ) can read my blog and know me better.

Considering it all a layman's viewpoint , a beginner's endeavor , please bear with me  and if you like what I put forward , I would love to get some words of encouragement.
